I travel a lot for my photography hobby. I used to have a polyester sleeping bag liner with me all the time, but I wanted something more light for my ultra-light camping gear (the polyester liner was 8.35oz). It used to get smelly over the time. Also, in my travels sometimes I tend to stay at questionable places (Amsterdam hostels, beds are scary, you could tell a lot happened on them). I changed hotels twice because of damn bedbugs (In the US, not Europe). So, as an engineer (we love to analyze and do a 2-week research even to buy a damn toothpaste), I did a little research and found out that Bamboo and mulberry silk are the only fibers that are naturally pest-resistant. So, it was bamboo viscose vs mulberry silk. I found a bamboo liner but is was 16 ounces heavy and did not pack very compact (Also the color was light green, ugghh), bye bamboo. But, but… what about the thermal and insulation properties of silk? I was questioning myself, since sometimes I camp in the Northern California Sierras (Big Pine, Second Lake, is beautiful) at 25F, or wait sleeping in the car for the sunrise at Lake Tahoe (23F) or at Hallstad, Austria (30F), etc. “The best natural fabric for the skin in order to keep it warm is silk. Silk provides warmth while gently caressing the skin with its soft feel.” “Silk is best for moderate cool-weather activities, snowsports and stationary activities (spectator sports and indoor lounging).” Boom! (Thank you Google). So, I wanted something made of mulberry silk and light. Browsing Amazon I found the Brave Era Travel Sheet, they were light and made of the material I wanted. Used mine for my last travel to Europe this winter (hostels and sleeping in the car at 25F) and it passed with flying colors. It doesn’t smell, it was super soft, comfortable and warm. This is heaven compared to the polyester sleeping bag liner I was using, it like from being sleeping wrapped in aluminum foil, upgrading to sleep being wrapped in, well… silk. I never imagined that silk was so resistant even though it looks so delicate. I’m happy with my purchase and that the effort of my research paid off.As per my findings, it weights less (5.5oz) and also packs smaller (less than 6” x 6”) than the vendor claims (which is a good thing for me), check the photos. The only thing is, I wanted something in red or black color, to hide stains and stuff, but they only carry white and gray, that is 4.5 stars for me (I gave 5 because amazon doesn’t allow 0.5 increments). Anyways I got the gray, it looks nice and it seems that it will conceal the “dirt” as I wanted.I have not wash it, but the vendor claims that is machine washable, we’ll see. Some reviewers say that they had no problem washing it. I’ll wash mine in delicate-hand wash cycle and air dry it like I do with my other technical hiking clothes and gear, if it gets destroyed in the first wash I will update this review (And probably lower the rating to 2 stars).

I’m an avid camper and go to Big Sur regularly. The silk is soft and keeps me warmer when when I stargaze and sleep. It’s lightweight and easy to pack and hike with. I’m hiking most of the day and it’s compact so I can carry it in my backpack easily. About the size and weight of an iPhone. My girlfriend has complained about the scratchy velcro opening on the one she has, so I’m actually surprising her with a Brave Era liner this Christmas. The Brave Era silk sheet is of better quality and more durable for sure. Looking forward to many more stargazing trips ahead.

I LOVE this sleeping bag liner-style travel sheet even more since it is sewn into a bag. No feet sticking out the bottom in the middle of the night! Normally agile people will have little trouble in opening the bag the one-third down way it is designed to open and then sliding over the silk to plant one's feet at the bottom. (I am less than normally agile, at 73 years of age.) The smooth silk is a tight weave and stitching is well-done. I am using mine with a blanket system in a hammock shelter.

I bought this primarily for camping as a liner for my sleeping pad; however, I took it on a trip to Massachusetts to (1) test it out for an upcoming backpacking trip and (2) I'm a bed-bug-ophobe (due to past experience). I like that the fabric is treated to provide protection from bugs. This is a concern when I am camping and also when traveling. So far, I haven't been attacked by bugs. I don't know if this means the liner worked, but perhaps it did.I shared a hotel room and that can mean that setting the thermostat to comfort everyone can be a challenge. I found that this liner did a great job in helping regulate my body temperature. I didn't wake up from being too hot or too cold, which is a common problem of mine. I did find that my feet would get tangled up if I tossed and turned. I don't know that I could say it was the fault of the liner - it's just a comment that others who toss and turn may want to know. I did get a much better sleep than I normally do at a hotel and I have to say that much of that is due to the comfort provided by the liner. After the hotel experience, I took it camping with me, which is the initial reason for purchasing this liner. At first, the night was hot so I used only the sleeping pad and this liner. It was heavenly! Then the temps dropped colder than I expected, so I pulled out the sleeping bag and wrapped myself in the liner and my bag. Together, the life was sucked out of my very being and I had the best night camp-sleeping EVER! Seriously, if a bear were prowling my site, I wouldn't have woken up and probably would have been eaten. All in all, I thought it was okay for hotel sleeping and it was FABULOUS for tent sleeping.

I'm an avid traveler and have slept in many not so comfortable beds and places during my travels in Asia and South America. So I purchased Brave Era Silk Travel Sheet to feel protected against bed bugs and to have an additional sheet in my sleeping bag for colder nights. I have had travel sheets in the past but this silk sheet convinced by quality and design. The pillow pocket design is essential to protect my sensitive skin. The silk is super comfortable and best of all hypoallergenic.Awesome product and compact design for light backpacking! Highly recommended for everyone who loves to travel.

This travel sheet is really great! It has made such a difference to me when I'm in hotels or cottages. I just wish I had spent the money sooner to get myself something like this. The silk is, as they say, silky soft, and very comfortable to sleep in. The travel sheet is very light and compact to carry, washes well, and air dries in a very short period of time. You don't have to iron it, but it's nicer ironed. The only thing is that I wish I had gotten a larger size as the bottom sheet kind of scrunches up a bit under the shoulders when I'm sleeping. Also the side opening could start a bit lower down to make it easier to get in and out, especially if there is a pillow inserted in the pillow pouch. I usually don't bother with the pillow pouch, and just position the sheet a bit farther down on the bed for ease of access. Nevertheless, I recommend this product, especially for folks who travel a lot.
