It is developed to be used in conjunction with double sided tapes to increase the bonding strength of the tape. It is a popular tool to assist in applying automotive vinyl wraps. It increases the bond between vinyl wraps and nearly anything where a strong, durable bond is required. This product can be used to promote adhesion of 3M or any equivalent tapes to surfaces such polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces. Great for securing body kits such as spoilers, front lips, side skirts, wings, etc.

I use these when I installed rain guards and fender flares on my 2019 Nissan Frontier. I have always used alcohol when attaching anything with adhesive tape, but seeing these were going to be attached to the exterior paint I decided to give these adhesive promoters a try. I'm glad I did they really worked great. once you attach, the items you can tell it is down for good. I will always use these whenever i install anything with two-sided tape. oh, yea they also added a couple extras which was a nice surprise.

Not sure how this is better than alcohol, but it works well for prepping plastic surfaces for tape mounting. Does NOT work to prep plastic surfaces for painting. Stick with alcohol or another solvent for that.

First, I sampled randomly a few wipes from the order of 100 and the sample wipes were all wet, so I had no issue of dry wipes. Second, these wipes were bought to be used on low surface energy plastics such as TPU and polycarbonate. To my knowledge, adhesive activators work by increasing the surface energy of substrate so that the adhesive could develop a stronger bond. Visually, it means that the adhesive will spread out easier instead of forming beads. And that is what it did when I used these wipes. Plus, I tested the shear stress on the bond and adhesion seemed to be greater than that without the wipes. So, I recommend.

I had a project that required using a primer before installation. I had purchased these for a previous job but didn't use them as the parts bag had a few in there. I purchased these because they were the same brand. When I opened one of the packages, the little towelette was bone dry. I opened a second and another bone dry. After opening over 15 of them, I gave up. Since my order came in multiple bags, I tried a few from another bag. Same results. Needless to say, I'll never buy these again.

When I opened one of the packages, the little towelette was bone dry. I opened a second and another bone dry. After opening over 15 of them, all are dry out. Needless to say, I'll never buy these again.
