I am hard on waders. I run an irrigation district and have them on pretty much daily for 6 months of the year, doing everything from flow measurements to digging with shovels to pouring concrete in various creeks, canals, and ditches. I grow tired of paying $130 & up for a set of hip waders that break down and leak after 30 to 60 days of use. I saw these and thought, at $40 dollars I could buy a pair every month if needed and still be dollars ahead.I was very surprised, and impressed with the durablility of these waders. I have used the same pair now for a full season, only having to repair two leaks, which were due to tears on barbed-wire while crossing fences (not the fault of the waders). Admittedly, I have developed the habit of taking a new set of waders out of the box and sealing all seams with Aquaseal before wearing the first time, no matter what brand or price. I did so with these also.My 5-star rating is for price vs quality. Just the fact that they were $40 and lasted me an entire season is worth 5 stars. I wear a 12 1/2 size boot. I ordered these in size 13 and they were a very comfortable fit even with heavy socks. These are "not" insulated, which is what I wanted. Insulation through the heat of summer is not desirable, I can always put on warmer socks when needed. These are very light weight and not bulky. I am 6' 5" - 235 lbs, and the legs of these waders fit very well, coming all the way up to my hip. They don't angle down too much at the top toward the inside of the leg like so many other hip waders do. I like that. They are not as baggy around the leg like so many others either, but yet roomy enough to get on and off easily over a heavy pair of canvas pants. The buckles aren't of the best quality, the boot soles are somewhat pliable and not as firm as I would like, but again, they're $40.My only problem is that I want to order two more pair, but Amazon doesn't have the size 13 anymore. Will have to find them somewhere else.

I bought these boots because I get almost 1 year out of my "Hodg" company boots, then they leak, and I am tired of watching them go up in price and never on quality. So I bought a pair of these. Tried them out the other day and as people say, buy at least 1 size larger than you normally wear. I wear a 9 1/2 so I boutht a 10. They fit a little snug on me, but were ok after 3 hours with no sore feet. Maybe a 11 would have been better, but thse are ok with one pair of wool socks. They feel lighter than the Hodg company boots, but that is a plus also. I use them for metal detecting in the salt water and with no steel shafts in the sole, they work fine for that. I will just have to see how they hold up at the end of the year which is only till December.Well it is almost a year later, I was using these boots in 40 degree salt water recently and still no leaks. I used 2 pair of socks, 1 cotton pair and a wool pair over those, and after 3 hours I never got cold feet. I am still very happy with these boots.

Quality is on par with the price. These aren't made to last forever, but I won't be surprised if I get 5 years out of them either. If you walk through a lot of brush or brambles to get to your destination I would probably look for something else of higher quality, but if you're heading straight out to the river on a clear path or just use them to cross rivers I suspect they'll hold up for quite a while.Fit wise, I wear a size 9 shoe and purchased the size 9 wader. There is a bit of extra toe at the end of the boot.My advice would be, if you plan on wearing these in the winter, get the wader size that matches your shoe size.If you only plan on wearing them in the summer, you may want to try getting a size smaller.

These boots are great! My husband is a farmer and uses these for irrigating his crops. These boots have held up the longest. He had been buying boots at a local store, but had to buy new ones every six months. And at $50 a pair, that adds up quickly. This is the second pair I have purchased and it has been 2 years since I bought the last pair. The fit is great. I ordered 2 different sizes for my husband and his brother. They both agree that they are good long lasting boots. The only thing that broke was the leg strap that tethers the boot to the pants to hold it up. My husband improvised and made it last until these arrived.

I could not be happier with these waders. I have used them a few times with zero leak issues. They cinch down on your thighs, and also have clips you can put through your belt loops to keep them in place. I was able to walk through the river over rocks with no slip issues, and they pack down very small.
