Worked perfect to stop my leak. Got a nice b&m transmission pan but couldn’t get the plug to stop leaking. This plug sealed perfectly. Thank you.

As the title states, a pair of these work great. I use them for my Tremec TR-6060 manual transmissions that I work on. They come with thread sealant, so I don’t need any extra; but after a few times of changing the trans fluid, you’ll probably need to add your own thread sealant or teflon tape to the threads to be safe.So far, the factory thread sealant, similar to the one on my OEM GM ‘dimple’ drain/fill bolts, hasn’t leaked after 2k miles, but I still check it every few weeks. The magnets have picked up debris, which I like, both on the fill AND drain plug bolts. The oem bolts are NOT magnetic, so this is the upgrade I wanted.I wish the bolts had a base head, so that they stopped tightening and didn’t thread on for FOREVER. Yes, I’ve heard horror stories of people accidentally threading their drain and/or fill plug bolts all the way through and FALLING into the actual transmission. Maybe those were SHORTER plug bolts? Who knows, but I’m still paranoid regardless. I know that these NPT (pipe threads) bolts are supposed to tighten a specific way that normal-threaded bolts don’t, but I just don’t see it helping all that much….If I do find another 1/2” NPT bolt, magnetic or not, as long as it has a base head, I’d rather use those instead, out of safety reasons.

I used this along with a weld-in bung to add a DIY drain plug to a transmission pan. Why auto manufacturers skip adding a drain plug to transmission pans is beyond me; it makes a transmission drain a messy experience. The built-in thread sealer is a nice touch. The magnet on the end catches all the wear material from the clutches and steels. Fitment was good.

This is a very strong plug, and I used it on my Differential. I put magnetic plugs on all my drivetrain components engine, transmission, and rear end.
