I've used this product for years for my cats. It works great. Here are a couple of tips...First, don't buy the version for cats...too costly. Buy the dog pill for dogs over 25 lbs. (It is the exact same drug.) Then use a pill splitter and carefully cut it into 4 pieces. Now you have 4 pills for the price of one...at about 14 mg. each (the small cat pill is 11.4 mg). The small difference is ok. Using two spoons, crush and put into a small spoonful of tuna and you're good to go.Tip 2: You have to break the flea cycle. Give the pill daily if necessary, then cut back to every other day, then back to 2 pills a week. I have kept my cats flea free (they are inside/outside cats) with just one pill a week. But, during the worse flea times (which around here seems to be summer), I go back to 2 per week. So once you break the cycle, keep it broken with 1-2 pills per week. Of course, your situation may be different.... you may have an infestation in your yard, etc. Have to deal with that.Good luck!

Do a little bit of research as to what you are buying with these. THIS KILLS LIVE FLEAS ON YOUR PET ONLY. It does nothing for the existing eggs on the pet or in the environment. Armed with this knowledge, Capstar is a great tool to add to your arsenal in attacking a flea infestation. If you plan to use only (or mostly) Capstar to rid your pet & house of fleas you will have to be vigilant, understand the flea life cycle and be willing to give Capstar to your pet pretty much every other day over a period of weeks. This can be a life saver in many situations (such as a home with pets that may have reactions to other environmental flea control options - such as parrots). Or with dogs who are allergic to fleas and have intense reactions to just one bite from the pests. OR with pets that have very few fleas that you've caught early and haven't invaded the home yet. That said, the most common use should be this IN CONJUNCTION with extreme cleaning / vacuuming on a regular basis and another means of flea control that will attack the eggs that this medication doesn't address. In these cases, it will give your pet some relief while you can get to addressing the environmental problem.

They work, but too expensive for me to use as often as needed.

UNHAPPY that one dose only lasts for a day! I have already started treating the fleas, but if I'm going to give my hound a product with chemicals, I want it to work for more than ONE DAY!!!....ONE DAY!!!....ONE DAY!!! REALLY?!I must add, in the upper-right hand corner of the page it saidarrives in 3 Days (see details, which I clicked on, but no details)It took 8 days to arrive, ...more unhappy.

I do not like to use monthly meds for fleas but I use capstar on my dogs as I clean and wash everything in the dog area. It allows me to get ahead of the fleas and ticks

This product is great for controlling flea infestations! 100% effective and extremely safe! I use on cats (at a lower dose—11mg) as well and it really helps, especially with feral cats that I wouldn’t be able to get close to. I crush it and mix it with wet food then set it out in divided doses (1 dog dose = about 5 cat doses) where numerous cats are ready to eat. There is a pretty wide therapeutic window so the dose can be approximate and still work. The fleas twitch quite a bit as they die so you will see the cat or dog react by biting or scratching until the fleas die, usually within a couple hours. The Capstar works well for 24 hours with some residual activity for a second day.
