The highway bars nstalled without any complications. Remove gas tank, remove gooseneck plates, drill to specs and be careful when balancing nuts while screwing bolts or they might fall into radiator housing. A quick gentle smack to the housing bumps the nut out for retreval. It was my first modification to a motorcycle and a visual set of instructions would have been nice but the written ones did the job..They arrived quickly and undamaged.

I love Cobra products and these bars are beautifully made and simple to install, however, these Cobra bars for the 1987 thru 1999 Honda VT 1100c Shadow are NOT symeteric. The right hand (foot brake side bar) sticks out from the bike frame approximately 2 3/4 inches further than the left hand side bar. It looks really goofy. Additionally, this causes any highway bar foot pegs you may install on the right side bar stick out 2 3/4 inches further than the left side peg, which is a problem in both leg positioning and balance. I would not recommend purchasing these bars for the bike and years listed above unless you don't mind a goofy looking set of un-symeterical unbalanced set of highway bars. Cobra sad that they deliberately designed these bars that way 'to make room for the foot brake pedal', which makes absolutely NO sense since there is more than enough room for the brake if they had designed the right side bar the same width as the left side bar.These bars came from Power Sports. They are good guys, give great service, and this problem has nothing to do with Power Sports and they were great in helping me resolve this issue. This strictly a Cobra problem. I would order from Power Sports again any time.
