My drain had one of these, and I was lucky to find this. I ordered two. Washed them up. I do not see any rust or discoloration, so I assume the metal is good quality. The seal works well in the drain; there doesn't appear to be any leaks.

I think the original was thrown out by accident. Glad to have a replacement that fits perfect. Hopefully it's the same quality stainless as the original and never rusts

It won’t stay in place consistently: vibration from the garbage disposal in the adjoining sink will jiggle it out of place, as does a shifting of dishes in the sink where it is being used, causing the water to drain from the sink.

I am amazed that this thing works because it looks so odd you don't think it will but it does. It seals my drain hole easily and it doesn't drain away the water slowly as some other versions have. The only thing you have to be careful is not to have knife blades or something thin catch the edge of this under the water as it can release it accidentally. but so far its worked every time for the last few weeks. Its easy to clean as well as the seal ring is stepped away enough to get a sponge or kitchen paper easily into its sides. Highly recommend.

I measured my sink's hole and THOUGHT I had it. I didn't.I'm not a plumber, so the 'yes' you can with THIS kind and 'no' you can't with THIS kind of sink made me gun shy, but I had hopes it would work, after all, I did measure the drain hole and looked at the bottom of the sink. In my not-educated eyes, my sinks part did not appear to match any of the don'ts, so I thought it would work.Thankfully, I left the stopper in the plastic bag it came in. Hopefully I can return it. Maybe they should use my picture and put it with the incompatible ones. Also, I live in a manufactured home and there wasn't a warning about that either. Maybe there should be.

Bought this to plug the sink for giving my Yorkie a bath. She is constantly moving around and trying to escape while getting a bath so she would often slip onto the regular drain plug. This was the perfect solution to keep her from getting injured. It lays pretty much flush with the sink.
