Just got two to wire up a dashcam with battery saver. Picked this with recommendation from a friend. Seems to work pretty well as my fuse box is hidden behind a partition cover so it doesn't have clearance issues, therefore cannot comment on clearance. Seems the male connector itself is slightly shorter than the metal connector on the fuses, but it doesn't seem to be falling out after some use. The fuses it comes with, if you put them onto the sockets, there is no clearance between two fuses so removing them is a bit harder, but I was able to wiggle a burnt fuse out no issues. Also another review here mentioned it comes with instructions... neither one came with instructions or anything to indicate which is the original fuse, so I assumed it was like any other tap with the original going on the bottom (closer to the connector), seems to be working okay. Comes with easy to use crimp connector, so you'll likely need one of those crimpers or maybe a needle nose plier (should have the former if you're already stripping wires). Description says it can work with up-to 10 amp fuse, though my 20 and 40 amp fuses seem to work just fine, hopefully it's not a fire hazard or anything. As it's not really listed in the listing, the red wire is about six inches long with one inch for the crimp connector.

The Add-a-Circuit kit is a great idea to neaten up any interior work you do: without it you typically have to jam the device you want to wire into the fuse slot on one side, and force it to fit with the fuse in the socket. That works just fine, but this makes it a bit easier because the Littelfuse Add-a-Circuit plugs right into the fuse box and provides you a capped wire you can use to hand-splice in your device without having to fool with the fuse box socket. It's important to note though that newer vehicles have a different sized fuse! You should check your fuse box not only to make sure you have these older fuses and not the 'mini', but also to see if this would still fit inside the fuse box and not get in the way of other fuses or the cover.

The first thing you need to check with the modern day cars... is WHICH fuses does your car have,,,All of my cars except one use this type of fuse. The car I intended to install this in, uses the mini-fuses. Therefore would not fit.I did however and up installing it in my truck, for whole other purpose.Works like a dream.Simply pull the fuse location you want to use. Plug this puppy in, plug the fuse you just took out into the empty hole, and select a fuse of the proper amperage to go in the outside slot nearest to the power wire that is coming out of it. Make sure whatever you are hooking up has a proper ground, and you are good to go!

I bought one of these to power a cell phone charger and GPS unit while my 96 Accord was turned off. I hate having to wait on my GPS to boot when out running errands around town and there are times when I need my phone to charge without my Accord running.Enter the Add-A-Circuit. My Accord has its fuse box under the hood so this wasn't too different that running straight from the battery and adding a fuse in-line. I picked an unused slot that was convenient to run my lead wire then followed my amplifier cable through the firewall to a lighted switch (available most anywhere). My previous experience with the no-name hardwired GPS power supplies was unsatisfactory so I took a 12V lighter splitter, clipped the end and spliced it to the circuit. Hooked everything up and was satisfied with the results. My rational for going this route was leaving my accessories 12V cables intact plus I can (with a quick reach) hook up different items as needs arise.

Does exactly what is advertised. I popped in the correct amperage fuse and am running my dash cam off of this plugged into the same circuit as my radio. Key on = dashcam and radio come on, key out, dashcam and radio turn off.Great little thing for powering up permanently installed (or at least long term) aux devices if you don't want an ugly 12V lighter adapter plugged in all the time.Never knew these existed but I'm glad they do, they save a lot of potential for ugly wiring. When wiring check your manual but my dashcam is wired with the 12V on the tap lead (the red one) that outputs 12V hot, then the black lead off the dashcam is attached to the metal under my dash that makes up the dash's frame.

I am a beginner-DIYer and tried to add a couple of circuits to my car. So I ordered this kit, not knowing that there are certain differences in sizes of car fuses. It turned out that newer cars now use mini-fuses (ATM), but this one is a regular-size fuse (ATO).Amazon also sells a similar ATM-sized kit (also called "mini fuse"), so please check the fuse size before ordering, especially if you have a newer car and/or a foreign made car. This one MAY NOT FIT your car!I can't say anything bad about this particular kit, so why 3 stars? To make this review visible and to save my fellow shoppers a few dollars and a couple of days in waiting for the product only to discover that it won't fit their car. Please up-vote!

As I have almost always found to be true: If you buy a known, USA company Brand product, such as this one by "LittleFuse" you will seldom go wrong. If you need a power tap and you DO really want to protect your wiring and device properly, this is an excellent little item to use.You get what you pay for and this worth the effort and cost. Comes with various extra fuses in the kit as well as the plug and cover. If your vehicle has a slot to use this type of fuse in it's fuse box, then this will fit in anywhere! Good price too.Enjoy.

Very easy to use when you need power from your car fuse panel. Comes with 4 fuses of different sizes which is convenient. I used mine in an empty slot so I didn’t need to put the old fuse into it in addition to the new fuse.
