- Size Tolerances May VaryImportant Installation Note: The Grommets are manufactured to be slightly less that the hole size. For example if we have a grommet advertised at 3.0 inches (example size ONLY) when measured on a caliper it will measure at approx. 2.973 inches - or approx .027 inches LESS than the hole size of 3 inches. This difference is by design to allow for the grommet to be inserted into the CUT hole size. These grommets after inserted into a cut hole are intended to move freely. If you need a TIGHT fit a small amount of glue or silicon may be needed.

Good overall, but you'll need adhesive if it needs to be secure.The quality of the unit itself is fine, but it doesn't fit snugly into a 4" hole like it should. Yes I see that it says "3.993", but you would think it would be designed to fit a 4" hole made by a hole saw without a great deal of play - which it doesn't. 4" hole saws aren't perfect, nor is the hole that they produce. I'd prefer if they'd just make the thing 4" and shape the bottom accordingly, so it stays in the hole without the use of adhesives.

Was looking for a piece of trim to fit in a 4" hole in a can recycling bin. This fit perfectly! Good quality plastic too.
