After waiting forever to get this, I was so disappointed that I couldn’t do anything but shake my head. I’ve used a lot of different can openers in my lifetime and this one rates up in the top 3 worst. I don’t even know where to begin with this thing.First, it’s plastic. If that’s not enough, it’s cheap plastic. It mimics stainless steel in look, but it fails even in that. You can look at this thing from a distance and know it’s cheap plastic and not stainless steel. For $19.99 I was expecting something better than this Dollar Tree item.Pulling this thing apart to put the batteries in almost took a court order from the US Supreme Court. I thought I was going to break it. Once I finally got them apart, I added the batteries. They are not included so make sure you have some. The next thing, it comes on when it wants to come on and shuts off in the middle of it cruising around the can like it’s on roller skates. This thing doesn’t grip the can. It doesn’t do nothing but make this god awful sound like you’re killing it.Don’t get me started on the instructions! They are as useless as the item. No! For $20 I can buy better from a $5 store that would be less of a headache. I’m so disappointed.

This is pretty terrible at opening cans. I have no idea why this even has the word "smooth" in the description because this thing creates a huge jagged mess. Not only that it cuts the can a few millimeters below the rim so if you are opening anything with liquid in it the contents end up on the counter. That is of course if you can get the thing to catch and work at all. I feel like it takes longer to try and use this gadget than using a old school can opener. This thing is terrible. The only reason I am giving this two stars is that it does work at opening cans, it just does a terrible job at it. I reserve one star reviews for products that just do not work at all.One thing I do want to also note is that while this does run on two AA batteries, I had no problem using rechargeable AA batteries. Switching to non-rechargeable AA batteries did not help it perform any better.

I've used these type of can opener before so I know what to expect. This product came with a can opener and a small instruction manual. You will need two AA batteries, but it is not included with the package. The housing is made of plastic. The motor is loud but it does not grip the can tight enough and it constantly pause then start again while the motor is running. I've tried multiple cans but the mechanism does not provide a good cut on the cans. This is one of the worst can opener I've ever used. Totally junk!

This is a good looking & useful electric can opener! It’s fits nicely in your hand & takes the hassle out of opening cans. I like the stainless steel look too

This electric can opener is powered by 2 AA batteries. For can opener, I kind of prefer to use changeable battery. Because when I need it, I need it right away. I cannot wait for it to recharge. So this is one of the rare tools that I think they design it right in terms of use AA batteries. The outer case is made from plastic. Not difficult to open to replace batteries. But the quality is not great. I think some of the clips might break easily when I open it more frequently. The black On button is very loose, can accidentally pressed easily. Good that I need to press it for a 4seconds before it will turn on. But the 4 seconds are accumulative. If I keep touching it, that adds up to 4 seconds, it will turn on automatically. Not impressive feature. There is one very bad thing, there is no stop button. I think for safety and emergency reason, this device shall be able to stop immediately. I understand there is a design issue with it to stop immediately. But that is not acceptable with a cutting device without emergency stop. It is very dangerous. The blade is good. It is hard enough to cut open the can. And what I like it most is if it works perfectly, the edge of the top that was cut off is round. It is round enough to touch. That is great. But as far as I know, it is unfortunately that most of the times are not perfect.I find it is hard to keep this opener at the center of the can. I have to use both hands to hold it, make sure it rotates around the middle of the can. I also find that one cut cannot completely open the can. I have to turn it on again and again to cut the rest. And I notice this opener may not be able to cut the can open completely. A lot of times, it leaves a few places uncut. And I have no way to use this opener to cut it. I have to use a manual opener to finish the job. This opener is not very easy to use, and also not able to get the job done most of the time.Overall, this opener cannot get the job done most of the time, and there is no safety stop button. With the price, I think it does not worth to buy it.

So, the idea behind these things are to make life easier for you if you have trouble with manual can openers. Slip it on the can and press the button. I've used one touch can-openers for years, and as annoyed as I can get at the one I have right now, this one is even worse. It feels cheap, for one...lightweight and slippery in the hands. For me, the button was resistant, and half the time I pressed it, it would not even start, and there appears to be no way to stop it before the timer (it auto-stops at 25 seconds) even though it says it will stop at the end of the cut. If it stops before finishing, you must manually move it backwards a touch before restarting. This really isn't all that intuitive, and if you have large cans this would probably make opening them take much longer. The idea is good, but it isn't executed right, and there are better ones out there.

I recently ordered this can opener as I have bad arthritis in my hands and struggle with regular openers. It arrived promptly and was well packaged. Included in the package is the can opener and instruction manual. It requires 2 AA batteries which are not included. This is comprised of a very lightweight plastic material which I don't think will last long.. The design is ergonomic and it fits comfortably in my hand but that's about the only positive thing I have to say about the product.I've now had this for several weeks and have not been able to get it to work after multiple attempts. The instructions are useless as well. Not recommended at all.

While it can open cans, it usually leaves either multiple sections uncut or needs 3-4 rotations before finally taking off the top. In that time, you could have opened three more cans in the same amount of time. I had to actively push or pull it to get consistent results, at which point it would have been better to just do it with a manual one.The build quality isn't good. It's made of plastic that slips quite a bit when it gets wet, and the button on the top activates at the slightest touch, which isn't good when there's no off switch. The gear also doesn't grip well. When active, it sometimes begins to shake or stop entirely. Sometimes it doesn't start at all.Overall, I recommend you save your money and go with a manual can opener. If you absolutely need an electric one, look for better alternatives.
