Blade adapters aren't needed with genuine Ryobi multi-tool saw blades because they're designed specifically to fit precisely on a Ryobi multi-tool. With after-market multi-tool blades, however, these adapters come in very handy.Without a blade adapter, using a customized washer ON TOP of an after-market saw blade is usually necessary in order to get the blade to mash down tightly on the multi-tool. Many after-market multi-tool saw blades come with an assortment of these spacers, especially if made by an off-brand company. By placing one of these blade adapters UNDER any after-market multi-tool blade it will tighten down easily, with no need for a custom washer.Just make sure you put the "D" side of the blade adapter (the side with the 4 points closer to the center) towards the Ryobi multi-tool, and the "B" side (with the 4 points farther away from the center) towards the after-market saw blade. Otherwise there's no way to get the blade to snug up tightly on the multi-tool & the blade will vibrate so badly it'll stop cutting.Take a careful look at the photos in the posted Amazon product description and you'll see what I mean by one side having "4 points farther away from the center" & the other's "4 points closer to the center". Perhaps the "B" stamped on one side stands for "Blade side"? If so, then what's the "D" on the other side short hand for???Anyway, these blade adapters work great when correctly placed on a Ryobi multi-tool. Even though these adapters are a bit pricey ($12.38 for a 2-pack at the time of this review), I'm throwing away all those custom spacers & will only use blade adapters from now on. 5 stars
