Very comfortable in the mid 40’s.

I have tried various sleeping bags, and this one ranks high among them. I have to admit that I don't camp in extreme weather - I only camp when I feel safe and comfortable. So I can’t give an opinion on how it performs in very cold conditions. Based on my experience, I think this sleeping bag is very warm. I’m someone who doesn’t like the cold, and I didn’t need to add extra layers while sleeping inside it. The material is comfortable too - it doesn’t feel cold when you first get in or take a while to warm up. It feels like a comforter from home. The zippers work well - no annoying issues like getting stuck on the fabric or struggling to line them up. It is a bit difficult to get the sleeping bag back into its storage bag, though. I’m usually pretty good at that, but this one took me a while. Maybe I just need more practice with it.

The thing that I like about this sleeping bag is that it stays pretty light and rolls up pretty small. The sacrifice for that smaller size is that it tapers at the end, which I don't love because I'm a feet spreader and a tosser and turner in my sleep. However, because the bag is lighter and the taper is subtle, Sea to Summit handles that well and it's overall a pretty comfortable bag.

The pitch is that this is a mummy-style bag for side sleepers. I would agree with this as I am a side-sleeper and mummy bags are really hit or miss, with this one being a solid hit. Rolling on to your side doesn't require the bag to roll with you. Despite the style, you can choose whether to rotate within the bag or not, with plenty of room to do so. The downside of more room is more air to heat before you reach stasis, but that's the trade for a more comfortable sleeping experience and not a compromise unique to this bag.For sizing, the long is good for me at 6 foot in height. I had room above and below me. I would be surprised if anyone 6'5" or shorter would have any issues with a long bag.I have no doubt this will keep you nice and warm on even colder nights than I experienced, with winter nights being an option for warmer sleepers (though don't go crazy and take this on an expedition - I'm not talking about camping in snow). Just be mindful of warm nights - this is going to make you uncomfortable if you are fully wrapped. The fill is surprisingly warm and I woke up sweating despite falling asleep feeling comfortable. The option to use it as a quilt is a good compromise as you can increase airflow on warm-ish nights and allow your sleeping self to toss it aside as needed. It packs down small enough to fit on its side in an Osprey 44L backpack, sliding to the very bottom. I think this is a good option for backpacking, though car camping will be even easier. It's a great bag for an adult male.

For reference, I’m 5’4 medium build. I like the wider size of the boab sleeping bag, it lets me move around comfortably (I’m a side sleeper). While it’s roomy, it’s still slimmer than my regular rectangle sleeping bag so it gets warmer faster for me. It keeps me nice and warm, I’ll use it into late fall- I wouldn’t risk taking it with me on winter trips. Quality is great, zipper runs smoothly and it washes well, no clumpy filling. It took me 2 trips to get the hang of rolling it perfectly to get inside of the tiny compression stuff sack, I’m a pro at it now lol. Should mention that they didn’t skimp on quality when it came to the compression sack either, definitely worth its value. Highly recommend for fall camping.

I am 6'1 315 lbs. Sleeping bags have a hard time containing... all of THIS. If they had a Long Wide, I would have gone with that... I chose Regular Wide instead of Long, since Wide seemed more important.Fit: I am 6'1", so the height does fit, but just barely (I am at the max, so understandable). Width... apparently I needed the extra wide. It is very tight in the shoulders. I can fit, but I am going to avoid breathing super deep. I know that I am a big guy, that is why I was excited for the "wide" size. A bit of a blow that it was not wide enough.Warmth: This bad boy will keep you warm. It traps heat like it needs heat to live. I will be venting this most of the time.Quality: High quality. All of the materials are very nice.Storage: Getting it back in the bag.... was difficult. If a sailor had walked by while I was working it, the sailor's ears would have turned red. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

This bag checks all the boxes a high end / high performance sleeping bag should. It has quality construction, YKK zippers, it's sold at the Nordstrom's of outdoor stores (three letters). It's big and comfortable.Perhaps the coolest part is how small you can compress it with the included sack, it saves alot of space. The zippers move freely and don't catch even when they're all the way by the feet. Speaking of foot zippers, can I say for a moment how much I love the ability to vent heat at the top and bottom? Even when it's below freezing I find myself having to use the bag like a giant bellows to get the sweaty, hot air out once in a while. The foot vent makes it so just moving around a little gets enough of the humid air out quickly. The bag is pricey, but no more pricey than any other high quality name brand. Sea To Summit makes some of the best stuff you can get and this is one of them.

I used this bag when we did backpack camping in early March. The weather wen't from 60's to 30's and then back, and this bag did great. It comes with a well made stuff sack that has straps to really compress the bag to fit into a backpack. The loft in it has a bit of depth, unlike my down bag, so it's especially comfy on some of the thinner sleeping pads. The best part of this bag is the YYK zipper. It seems like magic opening it up and closing it, not once did I get any part of the bag stuck in it and fight to get it free-honestly worth the price right there. The size was great, I'm 6'2 and the long one was perfect.
