Solid acoustic guitars are happiest with the humidity between 40 and 55%. This device turns on by holding down the on/off button for a couple of seconds. It seems to be fairly accurate based on another device that I have. They both seem to be within a degree of each other.I like that it is portable. It comes with 3 AAA batteries. Not really sure if I prefer keeping backup batteries or having something rechargeable, pros and cons to both.It has additional features like DW/WB (dew point/wet bulb) that are probably more for people doing plants and greenhouse activities. The humidity monitoring is my main concern and I'm satisfied with this device for my purposes.

I have had several other temperature/humidity gauges over the years and none come close to this one in accuracy. It is great how small and portable this it, and that you do not need to keep it on - just press the off/on indicator on the screen for two seconds, and your proper reading will display within about a minute (before that the reading will bounce a around a bit). Make sure for outside reading not to put in in direct sun or over concrete or pavement. The unit is also easy to use - just place the included 3 AAA properly in the back of the unit, and turn it on.

This is a nicely built temperature and humidity meter. It is a little slow at times to change temperature in different environments but that brings me to the real problem. You have to hold the power button to turn it on and only need to tap it once to turn it off. When I go to turn on the meter the power button often gets stuck under the housing. The meter turns on but the lightest touch turns it back off due to the stuck button. Other than that issue I have already used the meter to verify if my car's AC is working and looking for drafts/leaks in my house.
