You get what you pay for, 3x the cost but worth every penny. When I took it out of the packaging I knew, 100% KNEW, that the difference would be epic. You can literally feel the difference in quality. 3770 temps dropped 12-15c with this change alone.

I thought a really good test would be to install some of these pads on a GPU that is a bit older and has had a fair bit of use, so I dusted of my Sapphire Nitro RX 580 and took it apart. The paste on the GPU was super dry and crusty so that was going to be replaced with some Thermal Grizzly Duronaut I have for testing, but the stock thermal pads used on the VRAM and VRM's weren't in awful condition, but were definitely not like new anymore. So that I replaced those pads with the TG Advance 0.5mm pads along with the connection from the VRM's to the metal backplate. You'll see that in the photos I've included with this review. The difference in temps while gaming was noticeable. The RX 580 doesn't appear to have a temp sensor for the VRAM so I physically touched the card to get an idea of the before and after. The GPU was definitely cooler using the Duronaut thermal paste, so that definitely played a role in the heatsink and backplate feeling much cooler to the touch that before.Just to give you and idea of that difference, the GPU used to idle in the mid to high 40's and in FPS games like Generation Zero, Deep Rock Galactic and Counter Strike 2, It would be around 75 C. Now it's idling around 38 C and in those same games, it didn't go above 68 C once. I'd say that is a good result and I would recommend these thermal pads.A really nice thing about these, is that they come in a bunch of different sizes for pretty much whichever GPU you have. Or whatever you have that might require a thermal pad. There are some things to be careful with when applying these though. First, use a really sharp razor/utility/exacto knife. It will make cutting these to size SOOO much easier. These pads, like I suppose most if not all thermal pads, are delicate. They rip/tear VERY easily, so take your time and don't man handle them. The last and most important thing to remember, is that there is a plastic film on both sides that HAS to come off or you are just installing a heat insulator. Very bad for electronics that need heat dissipation. You'll see in one of my photos that I am holding a cut to size piece up to one of the VMRAM modules. It still has the blueish plastic on it. I hadn't taken it off yet, but I did after taking the picture. Just wanted to make sure I didn't confuse anyone. Here are links to some of the other sizes of Thermal Grizzly thermal pads in case you want to get some of those.BASIC (Long narrow strips):Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 4-Pack, 120x20x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/4jkAi5LThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 4-Pack, 120x20x1.0mm - https://amzn.to/4jsZ5VyThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 4-Pack, 120x20x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/4jfikBHThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 4-Pack, 120x20x2.0mm - https://amzn.to/3Eyh1P5Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 4-Pack, 120x20x3.0mm - https://amzn.to/3RsRzxnBASIC (100mm squares):Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x0.5mm - https://amzn.to/4cSoZiPThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x1.0mm - https://amzn.to/43YkdOpThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/42HXMe6Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Basic – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x2.0mm - https://amzn.to/443tLruADVANCE (Long narrow strips):Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 4-Pack, 120x20x1.0mm - https://amzn.to/3Gw4eNEThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 4-Pack, 120x20x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/4jK0wytThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 4-Pack, 120x20x2.0mm - https://amzn.to/4jInO7SThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 4-Pack, 120x20x3.0mm - https://amzn.to/4cOyKiaADVANCE (100mm squares):Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x0.5mm - https://amzn.to/3Yyj2lpThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x1.0mm - https://amzn.to/4jsZCXyThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/3RsS8HvThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 2-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x2.0mm - https://amzn.to/4jBvR6qPRO (Long narrow strips):Thermal Grizzly Minus PRO - 2-Pack, 120x20x0.5mm - https://amzn.to/4cIqksxThermal Grizzly Minus PRO - 2-Pack, 120x20x1.0mm - https://amzn.to/3YcvtmFThermal Grizzly Minus PRO - 2-Pack, 120x20x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/42wDZ0UThermal Grizzly Minus PRO - 2-Pack, 120x20x2.0mm - https://amzn.to/4cFSCDQThermal Grizzly Minus PRO - 2-Pack, 120x20x3.0mm - https://amzn.to/3Y9HtFAPRO (100mm squares):Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Pro – Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x0.5mm - https://amzn.to/3Glcu3eThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Pro – Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x1.0mm - https://amzn.to/4cMUHOuThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Pro – Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x1.5mm - https://amzn.to/4cOzOCGThermal Grizzly Minus Pad Pro – Thermal Interface Pad, 100x100x2.0mm - https://amzn.to/44yeTBy

It was time to replace the thermal interface materials on my RTX 4080 and who better to use than Thermal Grizzly. I had to order various sizes to accommodate the different components. They come in strips and sheets. The strips are very convenient for components such as the VRAM where you only have to cut them to length.Once all was said and done, I saw anywhere between a 10C-18C drop in thermals across the various components. Do keep in mind that the previous TIM was old and worn out so your mileage may vary. The pads were replaced about 2.5 months ago and temps are still holding steady as when they were first installed. Not having touched my fan curves on the GPU means the temps are now on the lower RPM range so my rig isn't screaming (as loud) at me when gaming. While these are on the pricier side compared to other pads on the market, they do perform exceptionally well. DeBauer and company have really put in a good amount of work to find the right formula to get heat dissipation to very effective levels.
