Whoever made this obviously has never seen a real pheasant. If you're going to sell a training device, at least make it somewhat to scale. This thing is the size of a quail. Don't waste your money!!
Decent enough

I like that it’s smaller than the Avery version, but the paint on the body and head seem to be flaking off after 1 play session

This is a good training tool for training retrievers for pheasant hunting. The dummy is a reasonable approximation of a pheasant from a dog's perspective. Some people who like to use hunting lures or training tools as decorations won't get much value from this. However, if you use it as a training tool - as the write-up says, it ranks somewhere between "above average" and "great" to me. It's not quite great, but it is definitely good. It has good enough weight and a tossing handle to be able to throw adequately. It's made of all weather-resistant materials... a firm, but pliable rubber main body; tail feathers that feel like they are made of vinyl; and decently strong rope connectors that seem to be molded into the rubber body. I'm satisfied with this product.

Super small, not for hunting training purposes.

Although this training dummy is advertisied as a simulation for a real pheasant, the size is too small and light to be completely realistic and lifelike. It disjointed and weighted so it hangs from the mouth like a real bird, and when used in conjunction with pheasant scent,it should do the trick. Similar to a Dokken, but smaller...
